TERMS & CONDITIONS

1             THE PROMOTER

The Promotor is Butcher’s Pet Care Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 01716195 at registered office C/O Inspired Pet Nutrition, Dalton Airfield, Topcliffe, Thirsk, North Yorkshire, England, YO7 3HE(“Promoter”)

The Prize is provided to the Promoter by Channel 5 Broadcasting Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 03147640 and with its trading office at 17-29 Hawley Crescent, London NW1 8TT (“5”)

2         THE COMPETITION

2.1.        The title of the competition is “Enter for a chance to win a walk on part in a 5 show”

2.2.        The competition period will begin at 10:00 hours on 1 September 2025 and will end at 23:59 hours on 30 September 2025 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive. All entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

2.3         No purchase necessary.

3             ELIGIBILITY / WHO CAN ENTER

3.1         The competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man, aged 18 years or over only, excluding:

(a) employees of the Promoter, “5”, or their holding or subsidiary companies.

(b) employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter, “5” or their holding or subsidiary companies (including the show producer), who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration.

(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above

3.2         The individual entering the competition for themselves and their dog (the “Entrant”) and the dog nominated by the Entrant (the “Dog”) must meet the following criteria (“Entry Criteria”):

(a) The Entrant must be a UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man resident aged 18 years or over;

(b) The Entrant must be the registered owner (“Owner”) of the Dog and must be able to provide proof of this via a dog chip or veterinary registration;

(c) The Dog must not be a breed identified in Section 1 Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (the 1991 Act).

(d) By entering this competition, Entrant agree that the Winning Dog will take part in any filming, broadcast and publicity related to the Prize and/or the Competition.

3.3         The Entrant agrees and acknowledged that the awarding of the Prize to the Winning Dog shall be in accordance with Section 5 of these Terms and Conditions, and strictly at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

4            HOW TO ENTER

4.1. To enter the competition the Entrant must submit the following details, by entering directly via www.butchersdogfood.co.uk/5dogcomp, a social post link or via scanning the QR code via a leaflet obtained at the following DogFest Events:
Ashton Court (6 & 7 September 2025)
Harewood House (13 & 14 September 2025)
Loseley Park (27 & 28 September 2025)

Full name, telephone number, email address, and home address

The name, age, and breed of Dog

Upload an image of your Dog.

4.2. The Entrant can only nominate one (1)  Dog. Entries are free through uploading details via www.butchersdogfood.co.uk/5dogcomp

Entrants must consent to hear more from Butcher’s to enter the competition. Entrants can opt-out at any time via the link in Butcher’s emails.

4.3.        Entrants must select the ‘I agree’ to terms and conditions tick box. Entrants will be required to agree to and comply with any terms of conditions of entry to the competition as communicated by the Promoter.

4.4.        Maximum of one (1) entry per person, per dog, the entirety of the competition. Anyone found attempting to bypass this rule will be disqualified.

4.5.        Entrants who make an entry on someone else’s behalf will be disqualified, at the Promoter’s discretion.

4.6.          Incomplete, illegible, invalid, or misdirected form details will not be accepted. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of delivery. The Promoter takes no responsibility for sign-ups delayed, incomplete or lost due to technical reasons or otherwise.

5            SELECTION

5.1        Following the Closing Date, Promotor will select at random one Dog from all eligible entries as the “Finalist Dog”.

5.2        The Finalist Dog’s entry will be reviewed against the Eligibility Criteria by a panel, consisting of representatives from the Promotor, “5” and their respective agents or suppliers (including show producer) to ensure compliance with the Eligibility Criteria.

5.3        The Owner of the Finalist Dog will be contacted by Promoter for confirmation of compliance with the Eligibility Criteria and availability on the dates required. Failure to comply with any Entry Criteria or failure to confirm availability on the dates required may result in disqualification of the Finalist Dog and another Dog being selected by the Promoter from the eligible entries.

5.4        Promotor, “5”, or their respective agents or suppliers (including show producer), reserve the right to require self-declarations from the Owner of the Finalist Dog regarding adverse behavioural issues or conditions relating to the Finalist Dog. Any adverse behavioural issues or conditions relating to the Finalist Dog, will not automatically exclude the Finalist Dog from being awarded the Prize and deemed the Winning Dog, but the award of the Prize shall be at Promoter’s sole discretion and the Promoter’s decision shall be final and non-contestable

5.5        If Promotor, “5”, or their respective agents or suppliers (including show producer) later discover that information required to be disclosed to them pursuant to Sections 5.4 above has been withheld from Promotor, Promoter may disqualify the Finalist Dog and select another Dog from the eligible entries.

5.6        Subject to Promoter’s final assessment of the further information provided pursuant to sections 5.4, Promotor shall either (a) deem the Finalist Dog the winner (“Winning Dog”) and award the Prize; or (b) disqualify the Finalist Dog and select another Dog from the eligible entries until a suitable Winning Dog can be selected and awarded the Prize. The Promoter’s selection of the Winning Dog will be at its sole discretion and will be final.

5.8        Entrants must be contactable by phone and/or email within fourteen (14) days following the Closing Date. It is the responsibility of Entrants to check junk/spam folders to ensure they are in receipt of any communications. It is the responsibility of the Entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when signing up and on acceptance of the Prize. The Promoter cannot be held responsible for the Owner of a Finalist Dog or the Wining Dog failing to supply accurate information which affects Prize acceptance or administration of their Prize.

5.9        If selected as the Winning Dog, the Owner of the Winning Dog (“Winning Owner”) and their Dog must be available to travel to the mainland United Kingdom programme set and/or location (“Filming Location”) on such date(s) as notified to the Winning Owner by the Promoter, to film the Prize (“Filming”).

5.10      The Winning Owner must comply with any instructions and/or directions as given to them by the Promoter, “5”, or their respective agents or suppliers (including show producer) in conformity with on-set protocols and procedures, the Ofcom Broadcasting Code and all applicable rules, laws, regulations and guidelines. Failure of the Winning Owner to so comply may result in the disqualification of the Winning Dog from the Competition and selection of another Dog from the eligible entries until a suitable Winning Dog can be selected and awarded the Prize.

5.11      By participating in any filming or live performances on the Programme, the Winning Owner agrees that such footage may be published or broadcast in any media in whole or in part including without limitation the Programme, by “5”, the Promotor and their respective agents or suppliers (including show producer). The Winning Owner may be required to fill in and participation form(s), requesting the individuals to assign their rights in any film or live performance in which they or their Dog have been involved in respect of the Competition and/or the Programme. Failure of the Winning Owner to sign the participation form may result in the disqualification of the Winning Dog from the Competition.

6            PRIZE

6.1        The Winning Dog will be invited to participate in a walk on role in a “5” show as determined by “5” at its sole discretion (“Prize”). The Filming shall take place on a date to be determined between the Promoter, “5” and the Winning Owner (“Filming Date”), save that the Prize must be undertaken by 30 September 2026.

6.2        Please note that attendance will be for the Winning Owner and the Winning Dog only and no guest(s) will be permitted to attend, unless disabled support is required.

6.3        The prize excludes travel insurance and any costs or assistance associated with the lawful transportation of the Winning Dog as required by the laws of the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man (including without limitation, pet passport and/or pet travel documents or other certificates or paperwork, vaccinations, microchipping, notifications to relevant government authorities, and enrolment in any required databases or registration schemes, and personal expenses except for the following:

  • return travel for the Winning Owner (1) and the Winning Dog (1) from their town/city of residence to the Filming Location and back to their respective town/city home address for the Filming. Travel consists of standard class return rail travel to the nearest UK mainland train station to the Filming Location from the nearest UK mainland train station to the home address of the Winning Owner, or if based in the Isle of Man, Northern Island or the Channel Islands, return economy flights or standard class ferry crossing to nearest UK mainland airport or port (as applicable) to the Filming Location;
  • hotel accommodation for the Winning Owner and the Winning Dog on the Filming Date;
  • dinner allowance up to £25 (twenty-five pounds) at the hotel accommodation; and
  • return transportation between the hotel and the Filming Location for the Winning Owner and the Winning Dog on the Filming Date.

7             LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

7.1.        Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, “5”, their agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring in connection with this competition, the fulfilment of the Prize and/or the use of the Prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

8             DATA PROTECTION

8.1.        By entering the competition, you agree that any personal information provided may be held and used by the Promoter, its agents, or suppliers for marketing purposes and to administer this competition (including by “5” for the administration of the Prize). You can opt out at any time, upon which your details will be deleted from our system.

8.2.        Entrants’ personal data will be used and will be held in accordance with current Data Protection legislation and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, available here: https://butchersdogfood.co.uk/privacy-policy/.

8.3.        You can request access to your personal data, or have any inaccuracies rectified, by sending an email to GDPR@butcherspetcare.com. By participating in the competition, you agree to the use of your personal data as described in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy.

9             GENERAL

9.1.        The Promoter will make available the Winning Owner’s surname and county of residence to members of the public or regulators who request such details up to three months after the closing date of this competition. Promoter may nevertheless disclose the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so. The names and counties of residence of the Winning Owner will be available by sending a correctly stamped envelope/postcard addressed to Butcher’s Pet Care, Dockham Way, Crick, NN6 7TZ.

9.2.        The Winning Owner must, at the Promoter’s request, participate in reasonable marketing and promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding the winning of the Prize, free of charge, and they consent to the Promoter using their name and images in promotional material.

9.3.         If the Promoter has any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, or if it has any reason to believe that efforts have been made to distort the competitive process or spirit of the competition, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude any Entrant from participating in the competition and refuse to award the Prize or withdraw Prize entitlement.

9.4.         In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Promoter, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error affects or could affect the proper operation of this competition or the awarding of the Prize, and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition or these Terms and Conditions, at any stage, but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to Entrants in order to avoid undue disappointment.

9.5.         If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions (including but not limited to global or regional health crises, weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, hurricane, industrial dispute, war, terrorist activity, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, epidemic, pandemic, famine, plague or other natural calamities and acts of God), the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to Entrants in order to avoid undue disappointment.

9.6.         The Promoter reserves the right to verify all entries including but not limited to asking for proof of ID (passport, driving licence or equivalent) which the Entrant must provide within 7 days of request.

9.7.         The Promoter has no control over internet or communication networks and is not liable for any problems associated with them due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter will not be held liable to any individual for any fraud committed by any third party nor for any event beyond its control including, but not limited to, user error and any network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind which may restrict, delay or prevent sign-up to the competition.

9.8.         Entries (bulk or otherwise) made from trade, syndicates, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted.

9.9.        The decisions of the Promoter are final and binding in all matters relating to the competition and no correspondence will be entered.

9.10.         If any clause or provision of these Terms and Conditions is declared by a court to be illegal, invalid, or unenforceable, this declaration shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other clause or provision within.

9.11.       The Terms and Conditions of this competition, and any disputes arising therefrom, shall be subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales unless you live in another part of the UK, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.

Butcher’s General Competition Terms & Conditions

Competition winners will be selected and be informed by Email/Facebook/Instagram messaging within 10 days of the Final Draw Closing Date and will then have 28 days to respond to that email to claim the prize. If the winner fails to respond within this time the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize offer and award the prize to a reserve winner selected in the same manner.

User Generated Content (UGC): by submitting UGC you represent and warrant that i) you are the sole owner of the UGC, ii) the UGC is accurate, iii) you are at least thirteen (13) years old, iiii) you give your permission for it to be featured in Butcher’s marketing.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise.

All winners and runners up must, at the Promoter’s request, participate in reasonable marketing and promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding the winning of the prize, free of charge, and they consent to the Promoter using their name and images in promotional material.

No purchase is necessary to enter this competition.

Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other form of compensation. All food for dogs will be Butcher’s branded.

In the event for any reason the prize winners do not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winners and neither cash nor any other form of compensation will be supplied in lieu of that element of the prize. If for any reason a prize is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another prize for it, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value.

Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups or third parties will not be accepted.

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

The names and counties of residence of the promotion prize winners will be available by sending a correctly stamped envelope/postcard addressed to Butcher’s Pet Care, Dockham Way, Crick, NN6 7TZ.

The promotion is only valid for UK entrants aged 18 or over. We will not send prizes abroad.

Please note that employees, and relatives of employees, of Butcher’s Pet Care and its associated companies are not eligible to enter this competition.

The personal information entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this promotion. The Promoter may disclose entrants’ personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this promotion or communicating with entrants. The Promoter is bound by the Data Protection Acts (1984 and 1998).

Superfans

The search for our Superfans is an ongoing campaign and will finish at Butcher’s discretion. Please note this is not a competition and there is no prize to be won/collected.

This is not a paid partnership, however Butcher’s reserve the right, at their discretion, to agree terms with each participant in exchange for their participation in the campaign.

Successful applicants must at Butcher’s request, participate in reasonable promotional activity/post content on their own social media accounts as approved by Butcher’s and consent to Butcher’s using their name and images in promotional material.

Your details will be shared with We Are SNSUK Ltd, who will support Butcher’s for the duration of the campaign.

#NourishEveryDog Pledge

The Promotor will donate one meal to selected charities based in mainland Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales only) for every use of the hashtag #NourishEveryDog on qualifying competition entries.
Each ‘donation’ per social media post containing the #NourishEveryDog hashtag equals one meal, which is the equivalent of 1x 150g Foil Tray or 1x 390g / 400g Tin.
Total donations from social media posts will not exceed 2,000,000 (2 million) meals.
The Promotion is free to enter and no purchase of any kind is necessary.

Donations received by the charities are to nourish the dogs in their care and strictly not for resale.

Love Your Pet Day Competition Terms & Conditions

The Love Your Pet Day competition runs from 20.02.2025 to 27.02.2025 at 12pm. The competition will be promoted in partnership by Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs and Everbright Hotels.

Entrants are required to enter via social media on the competition posts and must follow all entry requirements listed on the post.

There will be one winner who will win:

  • A 2-night stay at The Ruddings Hotel, Keswick for 2 plus a dog with dinner on one night and breakfast both mornings
  • 1 custom-printed jumper from Woof Inc Ltd
  • 1 bottle of Posh Pooch Dog Wine from Woof & Brew
  • A custom-sized dog harness
  • A dog travel bottle

The winner will be picked at random and contacted via social media from @butchersdogfood no later than Tuesday 4th March 2025.

The winne will need to provide their full name and contact information to fulfil the prizes. The winner has 28 days to respond and claim their prize. If they fail to do so within this time, Butcher’s reserves the right to withdraw the prize offer and award the prize to a reserve winner selected in the same manner.

3             THE PROMOTION

3.3 No purchase necessary.

4             ENTRY

4.1.        To enter the prize draw entrants must be present at Crufts at Birmingham NEC during the promotional period by submitting details: full name, email address, dog name, dog date of birth and dog food preferences and postcode. Entrants must consent to hear more from Butcher’s and Everbright Hotels to enter the competition. Entrants can opt-out at any time via the links in both brand’s emails.

4.2.        Entrants must select the ‘I agree’ to terms and conditions tick box. Entrants will be required to agree to and comply with any terms of conditions of entry to the event as communicated by the promoter.

5             THE PRIZE

5.1.      A two-night stay for two in a double or twin room at The Wild Pheasant Hotel, Llangollen or another dog-friendly Everbright Hotel. Stay includes a threecourse dinner both evenings and full traditional breakfast throughout your stay. Drinks are not included and will be charged as an extra. Up to two dogs are welcome (if bringing two dogs, small-medium size breeds only, please check with the hotel at time of reserving your stay) Prize is valid until 30 Sept 25. Excludes bank holidays and bank holiday weekends and is subject to availability and non-transferable. Plus, £100 Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs vouchers.   

5.2.        There is 1 first place prize available to be won in total.

5.3.        There are 10 runner up prizes of £50 Butcher’s Nourishing Food for Dogs vouchers to be won.

5.4.        The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for any cash alternatives in whole or in part.

5.5.        No cash or other alternative prize will be provided in whole or in part. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control makes it necessary to do so.

6             WINNER NOTIFICATION

6.1.        The winner will be selected at random from all valid sign-ups made via the form.

6.2.        The winner will receive a winning confirmation email (the “Winning Confirmation Email”), sent to the email address provided at the time of entry. It is the responsibility of entrants to check junk/spam folders to ensure they are in receipt of any communications.

6.3.        The winner will be notified by email via the email address provided on entry up to 7 working days after the close date (18/03/25). If no reply is received, the winner will be contacted via a further email sent after 7 days. If the winner does not respond within 14 days to the initial Winning Confirmation email, or is ineligible or rejects their prize, another winner will be selected using the same methodology as above. The process will repeat for three months after which the prize will be null and void.

6.4.        The winner will receive their prize via the email address provided on entry within 28 days of valid prize claim and the completion of the verification process.

6.5.        It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide correct, up-to-date details when signing-up and on acceptance of the prize.  The Promoter cannot be held responsible for the winner failing to supply accurate information which affects prize acceptance or delivery of their prize.

7             LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
