For over 30 years Butcher’s have made naturally, nourishing food for dogs.
We pride ourselves on being a family business having a deep heritage in
farming which evolved into making naturally, nourishing dog food.
Our mission of making natural dog food affordable for every dog is as important as ever to us.
To nourish them like they nourish us.
Butcher’s began with Fred and Alice and the butcher shop they opened in Rugby, Warwickshire. Over 30 years, Fred and his four sons built up a thriving family business, rearing and selling livestock as well as preparing and selling quality British meat to local markets and butchers as far afield as Birmingham and London.
In the 60s, Butcher’s began supplying the grocery chain J Sainsbury’s. Then, youngest son, Graham, combined his passion for dogs and his in-depth knowledge of meat to the development of the original Butcher’s tripe recipe for dogs. As tasty as it was nutritious, Butcher’s Tripe dog food was an instant success when it went on sale in 1987.
Tripe still remains one of the most delicious and naturally nutritious foods for dogs. It is packed with:
Unlike other tripe, you’ll find ours is green, because it comes from grass-fed cattle, so all the natural nutrients are retained in the tripe.
Using fresh ingredients means we can control what goes into our dog food – if the ingredients don’t meet our high standards, we don’t use them. We receive up to 8 lorry loads of fresh ingredients every day from local producers.
Having welcomed a third generation into the fold, Butcher’s continue to extend and enhance their range of dog food. Using natural super food ingredients, including meat and many ingredients sourced from British and Irish farms, we’re passionate about helping to keep your four-legged friends healthy and happy with our complete, nutritious food for dogs.
The family have come full circle with Graham’s eldest son running his own farm, feeding his farm dogs with Butcher’s nutritious tripe to keep them fit and healthy.
